Neil Gallantree

Subjects taught: GCSE & A-Level Maths, Further Maths, Sciences, English, Business Studies, Economics & History

Neil has over 30 years' teaching experience in various educational settings. With a specialised focus on GCSE and A-level Maths and Science, alongside his expertise in university admissions, Neil brings a wealth of knowledge to each lesson. He started Top Marks Tuition in 2003 and has helped over 500 families over this period. Outside of work, Neil enjoys detailing his car, going to the cinema and travelling.

Oliver Aldridge

Subjects taught: GCSE Maths, Further Maths, Sciences. A-Level Maths, Further Maths & Physics

Oliver is an experienced tutor with a degree in Maths and Physics. He is currently working towards a PhD in Fluid Mechanics alongside his tutoring. He enjoys sharing his passion for the subjects with his students and he ensures that each lesson is tailored to the student's needs and ability. When not teaching or studying, Oliver enjoys hiking and being outdoors, listening to and playing music and learning new languages.

Josh Greensmith

Subjects taught: GCSE Maths, Sciences, Geography. A-Level Maths, Chemistry, Biology & Geography

Josh is passionate about teaching and learning and has been tutoring since he left sixth form. During his time at Top Marks, Josh has taught over 900 hours and has supported a number of students to secure their places at college and university. His students have described him to be "kind, patient and very knowledgeable" in the subjects that he covers. In his free time, Josh enjoys running, cycling, hiking, watching football, as well as reading about politics and history.

Julian Francis

Subjects taught: GCSE Maths, Further Maths & Sciences. A-Level Maths, Further Maths & Physics

Julian is an experienced tutor and engineer who is currently completing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast. Alongside his tutoring, he has worked as a university teaching assistant, supporting undergraduate Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering students and helping to explain complex mathematical and scientific concepts in a clear and accessible way to classes of over 100 students. He focuses on building confidence, strengthening problem-solving skills and improving exam performance through structured and personalised lessons tailored to each student’s needs. Outside of teaching and research, Julian enjoys running and archery.

Muskan Masih

Subjects taught: GCSE Maths, English & Sciences. A-Level Biology & Chemistry

Muskan is an experienced tutor and fourth-year medical student with over five years of tutoring experience. She has supported students across a range of ages and abilities, including with exam preparation, and takes a patient and adaptable approach to teaching. She focuses on building confidence and tailors her lessons to each student’s individual needs and learning style.

Outside of tutoring and her medical studies, Muskan enjoys horse riding, runs a dog training business with her best friend and volunteers at her local dog shelter.

Christie Fendell

Subjects taught: GCSE Biology, Chemistry & Physics. A-Level Biology & Chemistry

Christie is a qualified secondary science teacher with experience teaching and tutoring students across a range of ages and abilities. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Marine Biology and has taught Science in secondary schools, including supporting students with special educational needs.

Alongside tutoring, Christie works as a Senior Educational Writer and Editor, creating Science lessons, assessments and teaching resources for students from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level. Her combination of classroom teaching and curriculum resource development gives her a strong understanding of both scientific content and how to make complex topics accessible to students.

Shakira Gallantree

Operations Director

Shakira has been part of Top Marks Tuition since 2020 and oversees the day-to-day running of the business. With a professional background in accounting and finance, she manages new enquiries, student and tutor matching, scheduling and the wider administration of tuition. As the main point of contact for students and parents, Shakira works closely with the tutoring team to ensure each student is matched with the most appropriate support for their individual needs.

Outside of work, she enjoys watching films and trying new restaurants.
